Food-grade Activated Carbon
Matex YG wood-activated carbon (for food use only) is made from carefully selected sawdust and wood blocks as raw materials and refined processing; it includes YT-SA004 and YT-SC028 series products. The products have large adsorption capacity and fast filtration speed due to their developmental micropore and mesopore structure and specific surface area; they have high strength, low ash content, reasonable pore size distribution, high ignition point, and a service life that is 4-5 times that of ordinary coal-based activated carbon; customized services can be provided.

Features of Food-grade Activated Carbon

Features of Food-grade Activated Carbon

1. Stable Performance

Matex YG wood-activated carbon is engineered for consistent and reliable performance. In food-related applications, stability is crucial because fluctuations in performance could affect the safety and quality of the food being processed. The stable performance ensures that the carbon maintains its adsorption capabilities over time, making it ideal for tasks like decolorization, odor removal, or contaminant filtration in food and beverage processing.

2. Developed Pores

This wood-activated carbon has a highly developed pore structure, consisting of micropores, mesopores, and macropores. These pores are essential for trapping and adsorbing a wide range of molecules, from small organic contaminants to larger compounds. The well-developed pore network allows for efficient filtration and purification, making it especially useful in food applications where removing impurities, colors, or odors is necessary to maintain product quality.

3. High Purity

Purity is critical for food-grade activated carbon to ensure no harmful residues or impurities are introduced into the food products. Matex YG wood-activated carbon is of high purity, meaning it has minimal amounts of residual ash or other contaminants. This ensures that it can be used safely in the food industry for processes like clarifying liquids, decolorizing sugar, or purifying oils, without altering the taste or introducing foreign substances.

4. Large Adsorption Capacity

Large adsorption capacity means that the carbon can absorb a significant amount of contaminants before becoming saturated. In food applications, this allows the carbon to handle high loads of impurities, odors, or colors without needing frequent replacement or regeneration. The large adsorption capacity enhances the efficiency of food processing, ensuring a cleaner, purer product with fewer interruptions in the purification process.

5. Fast Adsorption Speed

Fast adsorption speed refers to how quickly the activated carbon can capture and hold contaminants. In the food industry, time is often critical, and the ability to quickly remove unwanted substances, such as off-flavors, colors, or toxins, can significantly speed up the processing cycle. Matex YG wood-activated carbon's fast adsorption speed ensures rapid purification, making it ideal for dynamic food processing environments where high throughput and efficiency are key factors.
